8. Website Care and Hosting
For the purposes of these Terms, “Managed Hosting” means website hosting together with the routine maintenance and monitoring services described below.
8.1 Client-managed hosting
Where clients arrange and manage their own hosting or software, I am not responsible for downtime, loss of data, software incompatibilities, plugin conflicts, server performance or security breaches. I recommend regular backups, WordPress updates and security monitoring.
8.2 Managed hosting provided by Rymer Digital
Where I provide managed hosting, I will use reasonable skill and care to provide:

- routine plugin updates
- scheduled backups
- security monitoring
Managed hosting does not include:
- content updates
- design changes
- new functionality
- troubleshooting issues caused by client-installed software or third-party services unless otherwise agreed.
While reasonable steps are taken to maintain website availability and security, uninterrupted service cannot be guaranteed.
Clients must not knowingly upload malicious software or use the hosting service for unlawful purposes.

Where Rymer Digital registers or manages a domain name on behalf of a client:
- the client remains the legal owner (registrant) wherever possible
- Rymer Digital may act as the administrative and technical contact
- domain renewal fees must be paid before the renewal date
- Rymer Digital cannot accept responsibility for domains that expire due to unpaid renewal fees or inaccurate contact details.
8.4 Third Party Services
Websites may rely upon third-party providers including hosting companies, domain registrars, WordPress, plugin developers, payment processors and other online services. I cannot be held responsible for outages, policy changes, pricing changes or discontinuation of third-party services.
8.5 Backups
Backups are provided as a safeguard but should not be considered an absolute guarantee against data loss. While every reasonable effort will be made to restore a website where possible, restoration cannot be guaranteed in every circumstance.
8.6 Ending Managed Hosting
If managed hosting ends, reasonable assistance will be provided to transfer the website to another provider, provided all outstanding invoices have been settled.
9. Confidentiality
Both parties agree to keep all project information confidential. This includes business data, logins, internal processes, and client details.
10. Limitation of Liability
Services are provided with reasonable skill and care. However, I cannot guarantee:
- uninterrupted access to online platforms

Except where the law prevents limitation, my total liability shall not exceed the total amount paid by the client for the relevant work.
